Man runs from Abuja to Lagos in 17 days

A man is set to run a 17 days marathon from Abuja to Lagos

I would have called it a bluff, but I was there.

Initially, when I got to the press conference room inside Radio House I find it funny to see a young man dressed like an Olympic gold medalist stand right next to the Honourable Minister for health Professor Isaac Adewole. However, it’s a press briefing of the minister, as such you would only expect executive updates or a breaking news

So the gist is; Mr. Fadesola Adebayo who is probably an athlete has decided to set off on a 17 day marathon race from Abuja to Lagos to create awareness of a new killer disease known as Stevens-Johnson syndrome

Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a rare and serious disorder of  skin and mucous membranes, which is  usually a reaction to a medication especially when unprescribed

Fadesola made it known that he lost his brother to the disease, and that has prompt him to embark on this 17 days marathon race from Abuja to Lagos creating awareness and warning Nigerians against excessive intake of drugs not prescribed by a physician

He is expected to cover a total distance of  about 536KM. the route of this foot journey are as follows; from Radio house Abuja to National hospital to Gwagwalada, Lokoja, Okene, Owo, Akure, Ile-ife, Ibadan, Mowe and finally Lagos Eko, so when he passes your area you could join him, see him off with at least a road walk.

He is being escorted by the Nigerian Police, Federal Road Safety Corps and a special Ambulance provided by 17 in 17 sports company.
